SAFE Alliance seeks a Family Shelter Advocate for the Residential & Support Services Program in the Family Shelter department. The Family Shelter Advocate provides crisis support to families and individuals, ensuring they adhere to safety and health needs while valuing differences in client interactions. They focus on building trust with survivors, addressing safety planning, and staying informed about social services to benefit clients. About SAFE Alliance: We aim to stop abuse for everyone by serving survivors of child abuse, sexual assault, exploitation, and domestic violence. Our work includes prevention, advocacy, and providing comprehensive services to affected individuals, families, and communities. Our community outreach has provided over 400 trainings to 7,000+ community members, and our shelter programs have served over 3,000 individuals, providing over 46,000 nights/days of care. We also offer 24/7 crisis support through our SAFEline. Join us to make a difference. We are hiring a full-time, non-exempt Family Shelter Advocate with an annual salary of $47,684 to $52,000, plus a bilingual differential of $3,600 for English/Spanish speakers. The position is based at our Grove Blvd. Campus in East Austin, with some community travel and no remote work. Benefits include: Health, disability, and life insurance (employer-paid). Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Social Work or related field, or equivalent experience. 2+ years in human services preferred. Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual abuse, trafficking, child abuse, homelessness preferred. Fluent in Spanish preferred. Good communication skills and computer literacy. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, transport clients, and drive with a valid Texas Driver’s License and relevant driving experience. Completion of the 40-Hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Advocacy Training within 6 months. Application process: Applications accepted until filled.
