The MoCo ReConnect Drop-in Center is a unique approach in Montgomery County as the only dedicated youth space specifically centering the needs of youth ages 16-24, particularly those impacted by housing insecurity, seeking alternative opportunities to traditional education pathways, or just needing a safe space to feel heard and valued. The Drop-in center brings together, for the first time under one roof, a collaboration of agencies providing outreach, case management, education, housing assistance, and employment training. The Drop-in center provides additional services such as meals, laundry, showers, mental health supports, sexual health education, relationship building, and civic engagement.

The Youth Programs Manager or Pathways to Housing DC in Montgomery County is responsible for the daily operation and supervision of MoCo Reconnect and Youth Outreach Employees. The Program Manager is responsible for assuring the agency the values of housing first, client choice, harm reduction and respectful concern are expressed in all aspects of team practice. The Program Manager also works closely with community stakeholders to coordinate youth service strategies and to identify youth in need of outreach support and re-engagement services.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure MoCo Reconnect is youth programming is robust and encompasses the input and needs of the youth utilizing the center. This will include but is not limited to life skills, workforce development, LBGTQ+ programming, mental health, wellness, and peer support.
  • Work closely with Pathways Leadership, the youth themselves, and fiscal sponsors in determining staffing needs, client funds, budgetary determinations, and overall program strategy.
  • Train, supervise and facilitate the professional development of seven direct reports..
  • Maintain, cultivate and establish relationships with community partners (governmental, business owners, agency partners, schools, community members, etc.) to better coordinate engagement efforts to youth ages 16-24 within Montgomery County.
  • Supervise and ensure completion of all record keeping activities in a timely manner.
  • Ensure contract deliverables are met and tracked in real time on various databases which include HMIS, Credible and Excel software.
  • Represent Pathways to Housing MoCo at all assigned internal and external meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or relevant professional leadership experience supervising staff in a social services or mental health setting; a Masters in Social Work and licensure is a plus
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience and/or 5 years case management experience.
  • Minimum two year of homeless experience is strongly preferred.
  • Patience, creativity, flexibility, compassion, and sensitivity to adults and youth with disabilities and other minority populations.
  • STRONG knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Housing First and harm reduction best practices.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • A driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle is required.
