Job Overview

Drug Plastics is seeking an experienced PLC Programmer to join our Quality Manufacturing IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, testing, and maintaining PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems used in industrial automation within the plastics manufacturing industry . You will work closely with engineers and technicians to enhance real-time machine data acquisition and integrate it into the Delmia ERP system to optimize operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop PLC programs based on project requirements and specifications for plastics manufacturing processes.
  • Design and implement automated control systems to improve efficiency and reliability in manufacturing.
  • Configure and troubleshoot PLC hardware and software (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric).
  • Conduct testing and debugging of PLC programs to ensure proper functionality.
  • Integrate PLC systems with ERP (Delmia) and other control systems for real-time data flow.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to production and maintenance teams .
  • Document and maintain detailed records of PLC programs, configurations, and modifications.
  • Stay updated on the latest industrial automation trends and technologies .

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in PLC programming and industrial automation.
  • Strong expertise in Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram programming.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric PLC platforms .
  • In-depth knowledge of industrial automation and plastics manufacturing processes .
  • Familiarity with machine-to-machine communication protocols (OPC UA, Codesys, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot PLC systems efficiently .
  • Experience with Python programming (Highly Preferred).
  • Self-driven with strong project management skills .
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams .
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with Modbus, HMI, SCADA, Raspberry Pi .
  • Experience integrating PLCs with IQMS/Delmia ERP systems .

Work Environment

  • Onsite for the first 5 days , with the potential for a hybrid work schedule upon demonstrating proficiency.
  • Collaborative work environment with a team of engineers, IT professionals, and production specialists .

  • Ability to integrate real-time machine data into the ERP system .
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem resolution in manufacturing environments.
